Fastest way to 200
I currently have a 2000 Si, I have a aem cai and dc sports 4-2-1 header and will soon be getting an Apexi WorldSport exhaust, after this, what is my quickest route to 200hp normally aspirated? I place big emphasis on mid-range power because i have the high end covered. Thanks alot guys and gals

yeah not a bad idea, i was kinda hoping to obtain 200hp without increasing descplacement or having to go nuts on my stock internals, thanks for the suggestion anyway.

like he said..up displacement..headwork...higher compresiion, but to get to 200, your going to have to do some internal work! Best of luck to you!

yeah and with a compression that low, you can run 87 octane.
I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.

Re: Fastest way to 200 (Chris y0!)
200 whp on a si is going to be very hard. I would run some very high comp pistons, lumpy *** cams and a stiff valvetrain. That still probably wont get you close since you figure you need almost 60 hp to get to 200 whp.

what he said...getting to 200hp is gonna be really expensive...so right now you need about 60hp give or take a few ponies...so you have a long way to go but good luck on the project

Re: Fastest way to 200 (CivicUnrest)
dude, if you have to ASK what it'll take to QUICKLY and easily get to 200whp, you really shouldnt contemplate modding the motor at all
what i'm trying to say is.....research.......there are THOUSANDS of pages of useful info on Honda-Tech via Archived Search, so do that, READ, RESEARCH, and then come and ask us a less broad question
either way, good luck with your setup

Re: Fastest way to 200 (CivicUnrest)
i would go forced induction, but since you asked all motor, first thing I would do is get rid of that skimpy block. B16s are fine motors, but when trying to push 200whp out of them, the smaller displacement, the smaller amount of hp each mod makes.
Get a 1.8 or 2.0 block and put some high compression pistons, aggresive cams, valvetrain to match the cams, and more bolts on and you should be in the area. b16's can get in that area, but it would require a very wild setup.

civic type-r pistons (overbore maybe), integra type-r head, civic type-r intake cam, honda head gasket modified into 2-layer by removal of middle layer. this should bump your compression close to 12

Re: (dukgen)
I agree with SpoonFedHatch.. 200 whp in a b16a2 is gonna be very difficult and very expensive.. Depends how much $$ you wanna spend, and how far you wanna take it. Head work would be a huge plus.. You're gonna spend easily $4k for everything and done right..

Re: (00MRSi)
none of his posts actually say 200 wheel hp they just say 200 hp if thats at the crank it shouldn't be too hard to do with the b16. figure cams, pistons, a lil head work some tuning and your there. but i don't see anyway of doing it with just bolt ons.

Re: (00MRSi)
My friend went all-motor and in the end the motor ran shi--y(stock ran better). Actually the motor is not even running anymore. He had oil leaks, real nasty lumpy idle, bad low end power, etc... IMO not worth it. He regrets he even did it because that was his daily car. But it's on you. If you do decide to do it, do it right the first time.

a nice wet shot of nos will help you to 200 wheel hp, and it's only 500 bucks

...and he'd be lucky to get over 160whp with that set-up.
Why get an ITR head? It's the exact same PR3 casting as the B16A head, so rather than spend money on an ITR head get a GOOD shop to port and polish the B16A head.
I'm not trying to pick on you, but how did you come up with 12:1 with those mods you listed?

200whp?
Unless you sleeve and bore (not stoke if you want it to last) the B16A to 1.8L and run some pretty big cams and some 12:1 or 12.5:1 CR pistons with a engine management/tuning system you will not see 200whp on a B16A block N/A.
Just get a JRSC and call it a day. It will be cheaper, quicker (time to build), and it will out torque the **** out of an N/A B series with similiar money invested.
200 crank hp would still mean over 170whp, and again it will take a lot of work for an N/A B16A to even reach that mark.

N/A read all of the above.
Any other way: 55 shot of nitrous.

Page 62 of the latest Summit Sport Compact rag:
Vortech Supercharger- $3000 w/o intercooler, $4000 with. They claim they got 277hp with it on a 2000si using the factory ODBII ECU. I'd spend my dough right there.
