fake skunk2 intake manifold?
Hey guys,
Just got a "sk2 intake manifold" from a member of H-T but its the 1st gen so it not the pro series. So I am wondering is there anyway of determining if it is a real skunk2?
Since i bought it from a HT member it should be a sk2 manifold, but it looks like blox or wicked. Any marking i should see? on the #2 runner there is a stamp for serial or model.
I'll post pics once i recharge my camera.
Thanks.

This statement is not true.
Blox may have copied the older Skunk2 Manifolds... true. But they are not the same as ITR. You cannot base your accusations on the exterior similarities alone...
That’s like saying that Mugen wheels are the same as Rota's, because they "Look the same".

Thanks for that... I was going to post that once I found out which manifold had what number of dots.

I'm not saying that or that the first person/ company to come out w/ something has the best design but rather that the products... though they may appear to be the same or similar are actually quite different.
Honda made a winner... it's a great manifold. No one will take anything away from that. But the aftermarket companies will do their R&D and testing to find ways to improve on an already great platform.
Look at the RBC Manifold for the K series... its a great manifold! It's been shown to make 300-310 hp on 2.4L's running 91 octane. It's a weak link on engine that wants to make more. Already, people have taken that design and improved on it. It's the same manifold from what the eye can see... but the differences are not visible.
I just hate it when people make such comments as the Skunk2 manifold is the same as an ITR. Really... Who has taken it and cut it up into small cross-sections (like a cat-scan) and measured?
