Fair price to mount wheels / tires & balance?
I called 2 shops here in town and each want $8 to mount & $8 to balance. Daaaaauuuuuummmmmm that is going to add up! That's $64 for you guys who couldn't get the final numbers
Does that sound right?
I guess this is where a wheel / tire package is a better deal
Then I got to get some lug nuts
Wheels are 16" Rota C8's (gunmetal)

You think that's bad? Try $117 + tax in Leesburg VA. A freind of mine wanted to get a set of 16" Focal wheels and 215/55 tires mounted and balanced for his Eclipse and that's what they quoted him

HAHA almost 125 bux to mount tires.. that hilarious.. i bet he went to the the tire shop next to the dmv in leesburg, right? they are ****** rip off.. i work at a costco in sterling va and as long as your a member which is like 30 bux a YEAR it costs 9 bux a tire to mount, and balance.. 9 x 4 = 36 bux TOTAL and if costco ***** your rims up they are the most customer service place i know, they will buy a new one for you almost no questions asked, just notice the damage before you leave the shop or your outta luck pretty much

To The Top!
I'm finally ready to get the Kumho tires mounted to the Rota C8's (tommorrow)
What are you guys paying for a lifetime balance? The shop here said $125 to mount the tires to the wheels and lifetime balance (whenever I want to have them balanced). I'll be doing the rotation and mounting to the car since shops like to use impact guns on the wheels
If it's $8 a wheel = $32 each rotation
After 3 balances (8-9k or 9 months of driving) the lifetime balance will start to work in my favor when you consider the intital mount to the tires and balance

I've never had a tire go out of balance after the initial mounting.
I go to a shop in the desert (near my gf's place) that charges $10 a wheel to mount and balance.

So, you just rotate your tires and never re-balance them?

Right, I would only re-balance if I felt vibration or some other symptom of imbalance. That hasn't happened to me yet.

the sears auto center here charges roughly $20 per wheel for mounting and balancing. so i'd say thats' about right.
