Default Failed emmissions.

sorry if this is hard to read.. but those are my Results as you might be able to see it passed everything except for NO at 25mph... and it barely got by on the HC by 1 point.

It passed in 06.

Any takers?

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure, its a BAR'd B18C
so the CAT can't be that old unless it was bought used which i have no clue. As far as spark plugs/wire havent checked anything, It has all o2 sensors. Im wondering if a vacum leak would cause numbers like this? my Cel light comes on at random when im driving but I haven't gotten around to check it, so I think it could possibly be a vacum leak.

When was the last time you changed your oil? If you are in need of an oil change that will do it.

i'm so glad we don't have to pass an emissions test in florida, i'd be expletiveed. But check your cat first. That could cause that. make sure all your sensors are good too.

Check timing, cat converter, o2, do that seafoam cleaner thing, but seems to be like cat convert more than anything.

+1, I would never get close to passing emissions.

Do a tune up and you may be able to pass, or just "tip" the guy doing the test very well

yea, that's what i did in new orleans for my celica, apparently you have to have a muffler to pass an emissions test there, not wide open pipes, somethin about noise and safety, who cares about those things, lol. He got a nice tip, i got to drive home, we were all happy.

Go to autozone and get some stuff called
'"RXP's guarenteed to pass" it should clean up that NOX level. That's what we used to tell the people to do, when I was an inspector in TX.

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to get my B18B BARed and but i'm failing the 15mph but passing 25mph test. I originally was a gross polluter. I used sea foam but it didn't help much. The main difference was switching cats. I'm still failing though but i just got a stock cat to put on. Also i put in colder spark plugs because i talked to this guy who fail bad at emissions at the BAR and then went with colder spark plugs and passed. Good luck though

yeah go seafoam it correctly. so seafoam in the oil crankcase, fuel tank and through the brake booster, drive it around, then do an oil change. your NOx should drop by half or better. Also higher octane helps if u want to try.

Thats what i had to do pass BAR. if that doesnt work means your cat isnt heating up right.

Looking at the read it could be a bad O2 sensor. At 15 it was running rich( it cool down NOX), then at 25 it was lean ( NOX heat up). Get yourself a voltmeter, and check the O2 sensor before you go putting a cat on the car. But it could be both O2/cat.

just dump 2-3 big bottles of rubbing alcahol in the gas tank when you have a 1/4 tank and it will pass. will also remove any water in the tank.

Using that method requires a bit more explanation, and is meant for vehicles as a LAST RESORT to passing. This trick mostly gets used on the 13b Rotarys as they're really hard to pass sometimes. If done wrong, it can be potentially harmful to the engine.

What is required:
- 1 gallon of Denatured Alcohol (Most Home Depot/Lowes type stores carry this)
- 8oz of Marvel Mystery Oil (For Lubrication)
- 1/4 Tank of gas

Take the gallon of Denatured Alcohol and mix in the 8oz of Marvel Mystery oil and add it to your 1/4 tank of gas, now...DO NOT BEAT ON THE CAR. Drive the speed limit and keep the RPMs down while you go straight to the emissions test. Have the car tested, it should pass with flying colors. Once the test is complete go immediately to a gas station and fill up with the highest octane unleaded gas you can find. If only 91 octane is available to you add a single bottle of octane booster.

This is merely a last resort option, it DOES work. I've passed cars WITHOUT a catalytic converter using this method.
