Factory originals???
I went to a website that sells oem rims. The website is AAA rims. They sell brand new 99-00 Si rims for 500 bucks (set of four). They claim that these are factory originals and not replicas. Are they telling the truth, or not? I know that a honda dealership asks for almost a thousand bucks for a set. Is that just because its a dealer price? Because in that case the dealers are a huge rip off.

Re: Factory originals??? (DeceitfulCivic)
I think that's just dealer rip off. Example: Talk to a Subaru dealer about the BBS wheel package for a new WRX. They're over 3k for the rims alone. Now, I don't know about you but I can't think of too many BBS rims that come to 3 grand by themselves. AAA may also be selling rims off of somebody's SI. I've seen a ton of places that keep stock rims when people buy new ones (for some reason they don't want them or to get a better price) and then turn around and sell them. That's actually how I got mine.

Re: Factory originals??? (MrDX)
MrDX, I'm just trying to budget my suspension right now. I'm not going to spend a whole lot on wheels so I can route money towards other susprnsion upgrades, like sway bars, and brakes. I want to figure out howcome AAA wheels asks only 500 for new factory Si wheels, but everyone who sells them used is asking for 400-500 (I know that they include tires, but people are asking this amount without the tires too). I want to get a decent used set in the two or three hundred dollar range. If I'm going to have to pay almost 500 dollars just to get a used set with scratches and curb marks however, I'll just get them used from AAA wheels. I was just curious if these are factory wheels they offer or copies.

Chances are that they're factory... but unless they're not new. Honda's price that I can get them are $200each shipped... I was lucky enough to get my set for $300 without tires..back when they first came out. I have Kuhmo's on them now with about 6k on the tires, with a camber kit.. so there's no uneven wear on the tires. let me know.

Re: Factory originals??? (MrDX)
Will do. Don't wait on me though if you find another buyer cause I just had surgery and I need some time to make some money when I get back to work. Could be a month or so but if you still have 'em when I get the cash, we'll definitely talk. Peace.

My friend has a set of 00 si wheels with BRAND NEW tires for $500. It's just sitting in his garage. He already had a set of racing hart cp-035's when he bought the car. The tires were driven from the dealer to his house(about 35 miles), then he took them off and has never used them. Email me, we are in VA.
