Default Factory mounts vs aftermarket?

I am currently workin on a 00 civic hatch and parting out a 2000 si coupe. So I know I can use all the mounts from the si to install the b16 motor, but do the aftermarket mounts provide anything special or extra that the oem mounts don't? Should I spend the money to get something I already have pretty much? Thank in advance

OEM mounts are good for stock, but if you want to put down real numbers, I would suggest upgrading.

What are you WHP goals?
What are you intentions? (Track, Street, Bling Blang)

It all depends on how far your trying to go as far as power. Stock Si motor mounts are decent and will work for your swap. From experiece i notice the way the driver side motor mount is designed on EKs its the first and most comon mount to start to rip or go out when u put some real power in da motor .i recomend urithane mounts only if you are already sacraficing the daily driving of your car and is building a hard core race car. THE SPECIAL THING THEY PROVIDE IS THE PUT MORE POWER TO THE GROUND but man they make alot of damn rattle noise in your car especially in the ceiling area and lots of interior parts of the car. even with motor mount inserts .thats the only down fall if your not into having a noising ride

Sweet thanks y'all. I want to have my car have as much power as possible, eventually... Sounds like I need to invest in some good mounts!

you mite as well upgrade to Hasport mounts while it's all being swapped over.

they're not as bad as some people think, but then again, it's all personal preference as to how much vibration you get used to. i had the ES urethane inserts before, but they weren't that great IMO. then i went to Hasport and the vibration wasn't that much more after even though my motor has a bit of a lump at idle (ITR motor with Toda B's). power transfer appears to be much better as the motor does not move at all now.

it's worth the money in the end IMO.

I believe you, but that pisses me off. When I installed Hasport mounts on my B16A CX they were LOUD AS HOLY HELL. The vibration itself didn't bother me, it was just how loud the vibration was that made me get rid of them.

Oh well, whatever...

Just what ever you do, don't get the really cheap ones on eBay. You'll eventually have to replace them, alot sooner than you'd like. Yeah Hasport and Innovative are the best but there are other quality mounts out there now also.

haha man do not listen to this guy, any mount from ebay for $45 would be way worst than stock mounts, definately go hasport or innovative. My innovatives held up fine pushin 15 pounds so i'm sure you'll be fine
