Re: factory keyless entry
i know that i have a 99 civic 4 door with the value package (basically an lx with a few added features) and mine came with the remote so its definately possible to buy it. In the process of buying an 00 si, i talked to the guy and he said that they have black boxes that you can buy that the remote works through (whether or not this is true idk). all i do know is that i also have a 96 civic ex that i had to splice the old radio back into the car with the new head unit becase thats how the 96-98's are... the 00's im not sure about... sorry i said all this and it didnt help....

well if it didnt come with the car then its not gonna have anything that you can just program. i would assume that its a matter of installing something (black box) in order to get the keyless entry. Or, if you want, because i know that mine is only remote entry and no alarm, u could get an aftermarket alarm which will allow you to have an alarm and the keyless entry...

Re: factory keyless entry
when i got my motor it had an aftermarket alarm installed with remote locking it was a meta alarm system. but at the time both key barrels where busted in so i got some body filler and filled the holes, sanded down and repainted them. keyless entry BUT!! YOUR F##KED IF YOUR BATTERY DIES AND CAR IS LOCKED! i had too crawl through the boot into the car! lol

Does the box look like the one in the diagram? Is it attached to an 18P connector? If so, buy a remote and you should be good to go. The stock radio is not necessary for 99-00 Civics.
