Default Factory CD Player will not play 700MB/80MIN burned discs? Solutions?

I own a 99 Honda Civic DX. As some of you might know the factory CD player seems to only like 74 min / 650MB CD-R discs, it doesn't seem to take the 80 min / 700MB discs that seem to be the standard nowadays.

Is there a way around this? Are there specific brands or types of 700MB discs it will take? Is there even a source other than eBay to buy 650MB blank discs? (I've tried Radioshack, Walmart, BestBuy, and OfficeMax)

Note: I don't want to turn this into a discussion on why I should not keep the factory CD player. I have my reasons because of 2 break ins on my car for different aftermarket head units.

Unless your ordering bulk, I think your going to have a hard time finding some. The rest of the world has moved on to the 80min/700mb discs. My option would be either buy bulk or get a MP3 player with a casette tape option (Don't know what they're officially called) cord and just run it through your casette. I did this in my 91 dx, and it worked great plus it kept that stock look you want.

Or you could just convert your songs to .wav format.

1. Toss OE CD player.
2. Install aftermarket CD player.
3. Secure using four 8mm bolts on the sides.
4. ??????????
5. Enjoy more music and better sound

Since you dont want to get a different head unit. Just get a FM broadcaster and use a MP3 player for music. Because I dont know of any way around this and like you said 650mb discs are rare these days.

no because I dont even think its capable of actually reading wav format disks. I'm pretty sure it can only read RAW Audio.
