Fabricating A/C line in 92-95eg to fit INTEGRA compressors *pic*
i recently did this to my stock civic high side line....it fits the integra compressor like a glove now, both the high and low side...
my ONLY concern is, even when welded, will the line hold up under the high side pressure, or is it not a big deal??
will this work, has anybody tried this before?
the reason i did this is because my old eg compressor broke, and the integra compressor came with the swap, and i have the AC bracket for the teg compressor....so i figured i'd just fabricate my own lines to fit the teg compressor...
PHYSICALLY it works, but will it last?
here is a pic i made describing the fabrication.....any input?

It better be a real good weld or else boom !
Sounds like more work/annoyance, than going to salvage yard and replacing the compressor, anyone care to disagree ?

sorry for not following up guys.....
as for the WELD idea, it DOES NOT WORK.....the lines are aluminum, so it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to weld the aluminum with the rubber hoses attached....
the BETTER way to do the high side hose is like this....
i made that picture a while back and i used the BRASS COUPLER and hose clamps.....it HOLDS like a dream, and has held for 3 months so far

FYI, summit racing sells steel braided high pressure a/c lines. bendable, just put them where you want them.

what kind of clamps did you use? the hoses I have are different diameters and I stuck a piece of copper tubing inside. I can't get the clamps tight engough and the high pressure side leaks. any ideas?

i just used regular hose clamps....the ones that tighten with the "screw"
i have no leaks......you just have to tighten the **** out of them, they'll hold (use the 8mm socket to tighten, rather than the screwdriver, it tightens harder)

low side will work, it just gets twisted SLIGHTLY, no biggie
the high side is the one that is nearly impossible to work unless you fab. your own high side line
REMEMBER::: PLEASE do not attempt this fabrication IF YOU HAVE NOT YET EVACUATED YOUR SYSTEM......ANY unbolting/cutting of the lines while there is still gas will result in serious arm/eye damage......remember to have your a/c system evacuated/depressurized
