F20 in EK hatch
hello everyone!
I will have extra F20 engine in few months. I was wondering if anyone has done F20 swap into EK hatch before. Don't know why search button doesn't work so often these days, it didn't give me anything. I looked at 'what's swappable in civic thread', but there's no comment on F20. Please let me know if anyone has done it, there's relating threads or just some insights. Thanks in advance.

im assuming you mean the F20 FWD accord motor and not the F20C from the S2000.
If you mean the accord motor, im sure you can just use H22/F22 mount kits.

Yeah your the first person who has ever come up with this swap.
I kid I kid it possible you need diffrent mounts and diffrent axles I think.

Re: F20 in EK hatch (B serious)
Actually I was talking about F20C from S2000.
I am totally new to this whole swap thing, I guess I am talking about something really difficult I guess.
The guy from the shop, and they do a lot of swaps, said it's possible though...
Has anyone done it yet?

Re: F20 in EK hatch (kakahoya)
it should be possible with the right amount of money. ive seen a civic from the 80's with a s2k motor in it, just make sure the person swapping knows what theyre doing

Re: (andoxviii)
You can use the f20c in a fwd setup that would be the reason for the k20 transmission. Its gonna cost a whole lot of money. You would probally be better off going with a k swap since the aftermarket potential on them is huge right now.

Re: (smileycvc)
yeah...I was considering K20 too.
but I am just guaging the possibility since I will have basically free F20C availible coming off my s2k.
If everything works out, It will be my dream line-up for me.
EK hatch with F20C and S2k with race tuned F20C.

how is a k20 and f20c even similar? one is fwd one is rwd
its NOT going to be easy, your civic is front wheel drive
an f20c motor is rwd, if you REALLY want to then good luck with all the insane custom fabbing your going to have to be doing. i cant say personally ive seen it done

you're an idiot the engines are damn near the same. this dude obviously doesn't care much about how much he spends.. f20c with an adapter plate is much cooler than a k20 swap i think thats the point. ***

Re: (SwappedTURBOegg)
f20c's and k20's are more similar than most other engine setups.
f20c's do have frm sleeves though, so you'll need special pistons if you plan on upgrading.
There are better fwd engines than the f20c would make.
h22/k20/f20b/f23a/etc would all be less hassle and have more bang/buck potential.

Re: (ek forever guy)
Thanks for all the inputs.
I will keep you guys posted if anything happens with my Ek.
I am pumped up with the experience that I will go through, but the cost is one factor I can't ignore as well.
Thanks again guys.
