Extra HP
looking to increase HP to my 98 EK. ITs a Dx model, with a d16y7 engine no vtec, everything is stock. Looking for tips on how to increase or give a little extra HP. What would be best to install?

Re: Extra HP (Gouki133)
First off get a new intake manifold but be ready for a good time installing it... you should probably get a new throttle body too.
then-
headers
exhaust
etc.

depends on how much you got.
id say go with some suspension mods.
coilovers, new brake rotors (nothing fancy just some new metal), agressive brake pads, DOT 4 brake fluid & anti-sway bar.
for the price, i think that a pretty good performance pack.
you wont gain hp. but you can make the most out of what you have.

A nice way to get some life in these engines is to put on a Z6 intake manifold.
Also, the exhaust manifold is pretty restrictive from what i've heard.
If you can get an Y8 exhaust manifold, that might be the way to go.
This won't give you much, but if you're only looking for a little more fun from it, I'd say do it.
Shouldn't cost you much.

always want to but dont know much about stripping or rebuilding motors, and im afraid budget wise it'll cost way to much for me. Is it easy? and how do you think would someone charge to do so....
As for the others all sound like good options for me to do, please let me know anymore if possible all opinions are welcome thanks

The best way to increase power is to use the SEARCH button! This subject has been covered over 1,000,000 times (no exaggeration)!
Silly n00b, modding Hondas is for people who know how to use their resources(SEARCH button and reading stickies!)!

You don't get to advise people on how to mod their cars if you call them "headers"

Im not sure what tranny you have on your model, but if your transmission has long gears, def get a short geared tranny. This will be one of the best mods for the money and for drivablity. It is very easy to do a tranny swap, its basically just unbolting a lot of misc. stuff and then taking off the tranny and putting the new one on.
After that I'd say put on a Z6 head and boost it
Does your model have a tach? If not, i'd personaly get a cluster with a tach just because it lets you no when to shift and therefore you can get the best performance from you motor without over reving it.
