Default experience with ES motor mount inserts

I installed the energy suspension torque mounts (front lower and the rear) inserts, now my steering wheel and dash shakes like crazy at idle. Is this expected or should I have gone with using oem insterts? I know I can take out the front lower ones, but it will be a pain again to take the rear one out. does anyone have just the rear installed and front lowers OEM? if so does it cause the saem vibration? TIA.

do you have them installed on your car? if so, after they have "soften" up, how is the shaking?

i never ran the rear insert cause of the rattling. i only ran the inserts for the front feeler mounts. stiffer with no dash rattle try that.

i had them installed in my car for about a year. i thought they were really stiff at first, but after a few weeks of driving, i felt they weren't as stiff anymore. i mean you can definately feel them in there compared to OEM mounts.

i've since moved on to Hasport mounts and they're even stiffer than that. my car vibrates quite a bit considering my cams produce a bit of lump during idle (you can definately feel it now!).

i ran only the front lower mount inserts at first, they shook my whole dash and steering wheel like a earthquake. then i added the rear one and it calmed it down a bit, but still shaking..

Mashimaro, can you explain the condition of the shaking? sorry if im asking for too much. TIA.

np dood!

the vibration i had with the ES inserts was mainly if i rest my head on my head rest. vision would get a bit blurry and being an EG, some things in my car would make noise from vibration.

with the Hasport mounts in, the vibration is even worse in that stuff in my glove box would rattle a bit and even my rear view mirror would sometimes get a bit blurry with my idle lump. power transfer from the motor was better though with the Hasports. it's to the point where passengers even comment on how much my car vibrates...hahahah

wow im going thru the same thing man. i forgot to add that when my car is idling around 600-800 rpm its normal vibration (like b4 i added the inserts) but sometimes my car drops at idle around 450-500 rpms or so and then thats when it shakes my steering wheel and the dash a little. before i added the rear mount, the WHOLE dash and the steering wheel will shake no matter where the idling is at (450-800 rpm). my gf even asked me "is that normal?!" -_- thanks for all the input guys. i hope it softens up overtime...

still up for more input! bump!

No 100% sure but I think the rear mount hold the engine in place not moving around as much under hard acceleration. But haveing the inserts does cause more vibrations than stock. I have the lower set installed in my DC2. Just my personal experience and opinion.

You are making it stiffer so IT SHOULD vibrate, but how bad is it??

I just purchased some and I want to install them already! I hate the way my engine moves around when I shift at high RPM.

Were they hard to install?

^^^
the only difficult thing about installing is just the rear mount. the other 2 mounts are pretty simple.

I have this kit and the vibration isn't too bad in my opinion. Although after a multi-hour ride when you get out you suddenly realize the world doesn't vibrate.....

i have all solid energy mount inserts, + a torque damper, stiff as HELL, but after 300 miles it softened a bit.

I installed the same set on Thursday night (rear, lower fronts) and directly after installation I kinda had a second thought but it's been 2 days and now i'm used to it and love them. They'll grow on you, give it some time.

Adding a front mount will help out, as it distributes some of the vibrations out front. Otherwise, it with ES inserts you'll always have a vibrating car.

Wait, do the vibrations slowly go away, or do you get used to it??

Cars with vibrating dashes from solid mounts are definitely a turn-off for girls.
