experience with engine stands and hondas?
Does anyone know where to get long enough bolts to attach a d-series motor to an engine stand? the stock bolts that attach the tranny to the block are too short. thanks.

depends on the engine stand. Mine (harbor frieght) I was able to use tranny bolts on top and motor mount bolts (top tranny and driverside LONG bolts) on the bottom with ball joint castle nuts.
Otherwise, just goto the hardware store and buy bolts. |

no hardware store near me has such long metric bolts.

Maybe someone can send me the bolts they used? Or share where they got them.

How about you tell me what thread pitch, and lenth you are after (eg: M12 x 1.25 x 4) and I can get em for you. I make bolts for a living. and I can get virtually any length and pitch.

Just buy some long bolts, nuts, and washers. Use the holes in the block that are not threaded. Works great with my cheap China stand.

I just have a Larrin stand from Autozone, trimed back the spacers on the arms so I could use tranny bolts and for the bottom two just some high grade 10mm botls.
I used an aircutter to trim them. |
