exhaust is too loud after swap....need something more quiet.
i have a thermal stealth catback on my 97 civic. i swapped a b18b in not too long ago, and my exhaust has gotten much deeper/meaner sounding. at first i thought it was the ****, but now, with the extra ***** the car has, i find myself gettin on it more, and every time i do, i feel like the whole world is listening. i know the stealth is supposed to be "quiet", but there has to be something more quiet. i've been searching, and i'm leaning toward apexi's ws universal. does anyone have a similar set up? i'm trying to keep it low key. i'm not in it for the attention my car will bring, just the opposite actually, i just want to have fun driving my car. with the resonator already on the thermal, the world sport should sound nice and quiet right? trust me i've searched, i just want to know of similar instances of post swap exhaust stories. thanks

Apex'i WS, Mugen twinloop (or twinloop replica), RSR Ex-mag are all good exhausts for the kind of performance you are looking for.

i know the selection of mufflers out there, i just want the one that is next to stock sounding. i can't stand the whole "ricer image", so the fart can, super loud type muffler make's me sad. the thermal sounds good, i've gotten alot of compliments on its sound. some think i'm crazy for wanting something else, but i feel like i'm holding back when i drive, because of the noise levels. i really hate the attention it brings, maybe i just need a shrink. thanks for the reply.

i agree with the twin loop as probably your best bet.. i had a world sport and it was pretty quiet but compared to the thermal stealth i dont know if it is quieter or not. You are going to get to a point however where to get it quieter you will have to sacrifice some flow and if you are willing to do that you have a lot more options. maybe a itr muffler.

I'd check out the twinloop if I were you.

i can do without some flow. i know i'll have to sacrifice. will a itr rear section bolt up, with minor modification? to be exact, i have a 97 civic 4dr. also, i don't have twin loop money, and searches said the twin loop was considerably louder than ws, and rsr.

OBX makes a twinloop replica that I haven't heard anything bad about, and it isn't very expensive either.
I'm pretty sure the ITR rear section will fit up pretty easily, but I don't know much about it.

apexi world sport is definetely what you want if you wnat quiet. you cant possibly get much quieter and even with a high flow cat, its sounds great.

Re: (aak)
I personally have a Magnaflow oval muffler with an 18" Magnaflow resonator and my car is pretty quiet. It has a great tone and doesn't drive me wild while I'm driving on the freeway. Look into a Magnaflow oval if you are interested, definately worth looking into. Good Luck.
