I'm havin the same problem....its definantly runnin rich..i hooked up my air/fuel ratio and at idle its pegged at "rich"....i just put in a rebuilt motor and it still does it...so could it be a faulty ecu?

it could be your o2 sensor, spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap and rotor, fuel pressure it could be many things

Yea there are a few possiblities. I would just do a basic tune up and see what happends.

ive done nothing drastic, NGK wires, plugs, and the basic headers and exhaust..stock intake...keep in mind that even before i added all of these..it still did the same...and i am running a cat and a new o2 sensor....

fuel pressure too high. check to see what the pressure is at. should be somewhere around 36. and are you running a chipped ecu or stock?

D15B's tend to put out a lot of black. My friends did, mine does, and few others that I have seen over time. It happens. Wut kind exhaust are you running? All I can recomend is getting some kind of down turn for an exhaust tip pointing it away from the bumper.

What exhaust are you running? Most of the time the angled exhaust will do that.

Get some extension welded into the exhaust so that it doesn't sit RIGHT below the bumper. That's your problem. Your exhaust is to short and you're running rich.

your map sensor could have a lot to do with it running rich. A lot of piggyback systems change the resistance of the signal coming from the map or the iat sensor to change the fuel and ignition curves.
