which exhaust sould i use to pass emissions test?
im going form texas to arizona
and for those who dont know we dont have to worry about emissions down here...or atlest i dont.
my question is...
my 95 cx hatch has a 96 Dx motor. i need a new exhaust for it and was wondering if i can get away with buying any d series set up for the motor or do i have to buy a set up for the y7 that belongs to it to pass emissions.
any advice would help thanks

Hmm, it depends on what you mean by exhaust...are you talking about the part from the cat to the tailpipe (not including cat)? Or are you talking header, cat, and the whole shebang?
If it's just the muffler and piping to the cat, they're not considered part of the emissions per se, so you can put pretty much anything you want as long as it isn't too loud. If you have a new CAT, it has to be OEM or it has to have a CARB number. If you have a header, it has to be OEM or it has to have a CARB number (precious few of those, btw).
Since you're talking about going from one OEM D-series exhaust to another D-series OEM exhaust, as long they'll bolt up, I can't imagine you'd have trouble with smog, even if you use the header and cat.

LOL...hah, I should have read that more closely. But yeah, my point is that anything after the cat shouldn't effect your emissions test...the cat does most of the heavy lifting.
Thanks for verifying that the D-series all swap...I suspected as much myself, but wasn't sure.
