After doing a search, I found that getting an Exhaust Resonator will eliminate the raspy sound coming out of my exhaust setup. My exhaust setup is a 4-2-1 DC Sports Ceramic Header - Stock Cat - 2.25" Stainless Steel Piping - MagnaFlow 2.25" Muffler w/ Straight-thru Design. I called up a reputable muffler shop and they tell me the only 2.25" resonator they have is a aluminum 12" long one. According to my research, this is a very short resonator. Now, my exhaust setup is not loud at all but rather it has that raspy tone. My goal is to get rid of the raspy tone and make the tone of the exhaust a bit deeper. So the question is, will this 2.25" aluminum 12" long resonator will do what I want it to do. The second question is how will the aluminum resonator work with the Stainless Steel piping? The third question is what if I got a 2.5" resonator? Will that be extra work? Mess up the Airflow? etc..

Do it, most definitely. Resonators are a very good thing to have. I will have one when I put on my aftermarket exhaust.

Is there a reason why you have to get it done tomorrow? kteller.com has magnaflow resonators in various sizes. I think they even have stainless ones.

yea go for it. but if i might add, i know it sounds kinda rice, but i pretty much had the same thing on my old crx (stock cat with a magnaflow and i kno the sounds ur talkin about), but i went to my local speed shop n got a glasspack made by thrush for $18 and welded it in with the mid pipe n i got alot different sound than wat i had before. i personally liked it, it never buzed or was raspy. just my opinion if u wanna keep it cheap.

I do not have to get it done tomorrow, but I would like to. I have checked out kteller's Magnaflow Resonators, but I don't wanna spend that much money on something that is going to slightly restrict my airflow.

I am just looking for something to get rid of my raspy tone and replace it with a more deeper tone. If the 12" resonator can do the job, then I would rather pay 50 then 100.

Ive got a SS one from Toucan Industries.
It didnt change the sound much....just made it louder.
But I did feel an improvement in throttle-response (probably just mental).
get it done.

I have heard quite the opposite about exhaust resonators. Not sure why yours got louder...the purpose of the resonator is to muffle the sound. Its just like a long muffler...

resonater will not restrict airflow. do what you want, glass back or stock ex resonater both sound fine as well as your magnaflow one. RESONATERS are made to be QUITER, i once heard if you put them on backwards it amplifies the sound, but i doubt it.... BUT IT WILL NOT MAKE YOUR CAR FASTER...unless this is what you replace your muff with

Well, I think I am going to go ahead and get the resonator. As long as it gets rid of my raspy tone I will be extremely happy. I will post an update (if you guys like) on the new resonator.

my experience with the cheap resonators is that it takes away the raspiness for about 3 months, then its right back to where it was...i dunno about the expensive ones though, me and my friends cant afford **** like that

Well I wouldn't think $50 bucks is cheap beacuse it seems like most of the exhaust shops have these $40-$50 resonators. I know the Magnaflow ones cost like $65 though.

Longer is in fact better. It will change the the sound noticeably, theoretically(sp?) the longer it is the quieter it will be.

well i don't want the exhaust to be quieter. I just need the raspy tone togo away and be replaced with a deeper tone.
