exhaust question need some help
Hey well I have a 97hx with a somewhat new stock exhaust, i recently replaced it like a two years ago and suddenly a hole occurs in my intermideate pipe right before the resonator where the hanger goes. I can not drive my car thats how loud it is, the last time this happen i replaced it right away because I just could not stand it, well i dont want to buy some crap replacement pipe and have it go again, so i was thinking about buying the apexi wII exhaust because i heard such great reviews on it, the question i Have is do i need to replace my cat if i get a 3 inch exhaust since I want to swap in a gsr some time in the future for a na car. I am new when it comes to exhaust, i like it when things brake because i get to fix it, but i just dont want to waste any more money or some crap replacement.
so to sum it up can i get the full cat back from apexi and bolt it right on, or do i need a new cat like a high flow one or something, please let me know thanks because i want to order it tonight I really dont want to drive my car like this.

i wouldnt do 3 inch since your not running a race dump pipe right by the front wheel its a street exhaust...2.5" is prefect for the gsr and as for the leak, buy a new full exhaust system...i would look into rs*r because people were just sayin how quiet it is until you jump on it...i have a mugen twin loop that i love but pricey....also greddy exhausts are all under 95dbs so quiet but still makes power

as long as the hole in your exhaust is after the cat than yes i would look into getting a cat back system....as far as the brand goes ill post up some sound clips (im guessing you have a d16)
apexi WS2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated
apexi N1(there always loud)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...lated
RS*R rxmag(personally i like how it sounds with the d16)well any series engine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOio91LncK8
here are just a few..im sure theres an exhaust thread on here if you use the search button but i would go with the RS*R i've heard a lot of good things about them

thanks for the help vtech18c I picked up a vibrant exhaust 2.5 inch and i ordered a vibrant resonator I will be bring it to nrg tech to have them bend the rest of the piping for me, I have wanted the vibrant flat back for some time now, but i didnt want to waste money because my stock exhaust was fairly new. I wanted the apexi ws2, but i just dont like the way it looks, maybe i am weird, and the people that i have the vibrant said it has a good deep tone, I personally like the look, i really dont want people looking at my car like its fast because at the moment it is not

yea but if your throwing in a gsr, dont cheap out you'll regret it...the ws2 sounds amazing....i had that before i opted for my mugen twin loop...some vibrants do sound good, but i have heard some of them and they were raspy as hell
