Re: exhaust question.... (Green_Machine)
Are you driving a hatchback or a coupe? OBD1 or 2?
Either way, be aware that the GSR stock manifold is too short to line up with your exhaust (by about 4-5"). The GSR manifold is the only one of its type in the b series family. All other manifolds are longer (ls, ITR, si). You can fix this by taking off the second piece of your GSR manifold and replacing it with the second piece from the Si manifold. However, I would recommend just buying a nice header... Just be sure to order one that fits the LS or ITR. Also, make sure to buy a header that has an 02 sensor bung. Carsound/Magnaflow makes an excellent cat, which is not too expensive, you can get them made with flanges at kteller.com , and choose some sort of catback for your particular body style.

With that header you will be able to use any exhaust system designed for a 92-5 hatchback (when you purchase it it will be listed under dx, si for the model). These will work with your DOHC swap Civic hatch with the header.
I run a Greddy (Trust) SP2 with a 2.5" Carsound (Magnaflow) cat with custom flanges. Greddy exhausts are 2 3/8" and are not extremely loud if thats what you're going for. When you hit vtec you will really hear it (like anything else including stock piping, but at low RPMs its quiet).
I heard the Oval Es is good too, but don't know anything about it.. they do sell it I believe on kteller.com . This is also where I purchased my flanged cat.
Good luck

well i know i'm new but. my hatch had a DC 4-2-1 header on it when i bought it. it also had a GSR stock muffler. It wasn't loud enuff for me at all, so i went to an exhaust shop here in Okc. today, and had them weld on a short glass pack and a 4" exhaust tip. From the back of the car it looks like there's a big can under there and sounds even better. I'm not sure if it's a Magnaflow or what, but that's all that store sells according to the guy at the counter. I'm really happy with it so far, and i'm not sure but it seems like i have a tad more throttle response.
just my 2 cents

Since you have a DC header you can completely avoid going to meineke and just bolt everything else yourself. This is extremely easy since you already have a header. First you will need to remove your old cat and catback exhaust. You can do this by simply unbolting the cat from the header and then removing the exhaust by taking it off the hangers. Then you buy cat that has flanges on both sides. Simply bolt up the new cat to the header using handtools. Next, bolt up the rest of the cat back exhaust system using handtools. Make sure that everything's tight and that you hang the exhaust properly so that it meets up with the header (only two choices, you can turn the hanger one way or the other) and you're all done!
This will save you the labor from meineke and they won't do anything to hack up your header. If you do want your exhaust welded on, then go there, but make sure they do not cut off your collector, unless you want it modified. Have them bolt up a cat and weld the exhaust on to the end of the cat....
My personal opinion. Buy a nice cat with flanges and buy a bolt up catback. I would match the whole exhaust size to the size of your collector (DC 4-2-1 is probably 2 1/4"). The 4-1 JDMs are 2 1/2" collector size.

Re: exhaust question.... (jlsmi2)
^ i have dc sports also.
i dont have a cat it was just straight piped. i had 2 diffrent versions of the dc sports headers where the bolt holes were slightly twisted on one of them.
meineke shouldnt even touch your header, it has nothing to do with the headers.
however i paid around 115 bucks for the custom piping and installation of everything.

Re: exhaust question.... (00Red_SiR)
right on... 2" straight back then... but what you could also do is hack off (sorry to use this terminology, sounds bad but it works find) your current collector and have a competant exhaust shop weld up a larger (2 1/4" or 2 1/2") collector... then you could utilize larger diameter piping beyond the primaries.

p.s. he also said:

So he either has 2 1/4" (4-2-1) or 2 1/2" (4-1) which is what I have....just get bolt on stuff and skip the exhaust shop!
