Default Exhaust Q's -----need suggestions

I currently run a D16z7 with CAI, DC sports's 4-2-1 header, and 2.25" piping to the SKunk2 muffler. I have no Cat.... Yea I know...THe legalities are taken care off...and are not a concern.. the problem I have is not with the volume, but with the raspy noise it makes, has anyone had this before? would a small resontar take this raspiness out, does it make any sense?
I took the cat out of a friend's 92 tegra gsr with dc short air, 4-2-1, and DC exhaust
and his didn't hav eany raspiness to it all....

looking for suggestions and opinions....

look in the sig, I'll be doing a mini-me when I have more time available
having the fastest car was never my first concern.....most of the parts that I have either came my way on an excellent deal or free (like the motor, ecu and two IMs sitting in my garage)

the exhaust is on, I don't mind the noise of the exhaust the stereo outplays it anyday, however the rasp drives me crazy

I'm assuming that it's because I don't have a cat, I don't think it's due to the header, the question remains..... would a resonator put enough backpressure back in the system to get rid of the rasp, the raspy noise isn't always present, and the idle tone is nice, but when revving or hard accelerating it gets raspy

yeah a resonator should be able to take care of the raspiness

make your piping a 2.50, and add a resinator

it will be a tone deeper and it will take the raspy away

a res will help a tonne (Canadian), putting in a high flow cat (car sound or something like it) should also help while not killing more than 1-2 hp, but not nearly as much as the res. having an aftermarket header makes all exhausts louder, I have an RS*R header and RS*R exmag exhaust which is known for being really quiet. as soon as I put the header on it made it much more raspy, still sounds good, but it's more noticeable. You have a naturally aspirated single cam 1.6L engine, I don't think you need to go up to 2.5", I don't really know how that would help.

after doing search (which I should've done first) I'm pretty sure I got my answers

Adding a high flow cat will do the trick.
