Default exhaust popping

ok first my car is a 2000 em1 with the original b16a2, 142,500 miles. i put my exhaust on it about 2 weeks ago and about 2-3 days after installing the system i started hearing the exhaust pop while accelerating or under load but when let off it doesnt pop. meanwhile before it didnt "pop" with the old system. the car came with a gutted cat (still on the car) which i am putting a megan "high flow cat" resonater in a few days. yes the check engine light is on. its for misfireing which i still havent figured that out yet. also has a very lumpy idle. any advice???

it has:
-dc header
-aem short ram intake
-srs 2.25 catback exhaust
-everything else is stock

i have already changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition coil, pcv valve, cleaned the iac valve, fuel filter.
i know i should throw the car away but i want to try and keep it for awhile lol

im just trying to get this best idea to just tackle it right away for not a lot of money.

thanks

Reset the ECU and if the CEL turns on again, pull the code(s) and post it.

Misfiring can cause the problem you're having. Again, reset the ECU and post any codes that pop up afterwards.

Is this^ after resetting the ECU?

-Measure the fuel pressure and test the FPR.
-Unplug the primary O2 sensor to see whether the problem goes away.
-Test the ICM.
-Compression test the cylinders.
-Check whether the IAT is unplugged.

Measure the fuel pressure and test the FPR.
i will be ordering a fuel pressure guage in a few days so ill let you know on that one. how do i test the FPR?
Unplug the primary O2 sensor to see whether the problem goes away.
the one before the cat right? just a double check
Test the ICM.
will do that tomorrow
Compression test the cylinders.
ill do that when ever i can get a chance and when i find someone to do it for cheap
Check whether the IAT is unplugged.
yep its plugged in

In section 5k of the FAQs sticky, you'll find a diagram for measuring the fuel pressure. Testing the FPR is done in conjunction with the fuel pressure measurement (see diagram).

O2 sensor before cat.

Have an auto parts store test the ICM.

You may be able to rent a cylinder compression tester and fuel pressure tester from an auto parts store.

You should see an effect after the engine is fully warmed up, if the O2 sensor is the problem
