exhaust leak?
hi, i've been undercover around the h-t forums for a while now and finally decided to be a member! i've recently had an exhaust leak, i believe. when i park inside my garage after a hard day of work, i notice this black suddy water dripping between these two pipes. here's where it gets weird.. my exhaust is very loud lately. also, i don't feel a lot of air coming out of the muffer itself, but between the pipes there is air gushing out when i put my hand under there. last time i checked, the bolts were loose and i've tightened them as best i could. any clue what's causing this, and what can i do about it?
i have a 2 inch piping on my EG.

Take off old gasket, sand down flanges to remove all gasket material. Install new gasket. Put threadlocker on bolts. Put nuts back on. See if it leaks after that.

sounds like you have an exhaust leak man. Find where it is and get it rewelded. I had a leak one time and my exhaust became loud as ****.

Cut away the connection area and get a muffler shop to weld an insert to make it one solid piece. Sometimes that is the only way to get rid of all of the exhaust leakz!

i've had a leak for a while. i really don't care about it, but now a part of the gasket came out so it's sounding like an airplane. gotta get that fixed... right before finals too

Re: exhaust leak? (all stock)
some flanged connections have a doughnut that is installed between the pipes to seal them and to allow for some flex.try to fix the problem yourself, muffler shops tend to OVERcharge big time for simple fixes and they dont give a rats *** about your car.take it apart and clean it with a wire brush and see what kind of seal it requires if both sides are flat simply get a gasket and install.but if one side is tapered in from the flange to the pipe you need a doughnut.
flanges that require a doughnut also have spring loaded bolts that allow for flex!
