If you can't afford both, you are going to get more from an intake than a cat-back. But I would suggest just getting both at the same time as well.

Get a cold air man. Suck cold air rather than hot air from the engine bay.

get the APEXi N1 exhaust first, then save the rest for a Cold Air Induction System, rather than a Short Ram.

Is the intake going to go on the motor you plan on keeping? If not I would just wait ya know untill you get the motor you really want then spend the money on intake for that motor....

apexi n1 exhaust, sounds spendy, save the money and just do a 2.25"-2.5" header back exhaust with test pipe from your local exhaust shop in town, costs like $100 in my town, that should save you enough money to buy the cold air intake, then you'll really feel the extra power...hehe not that much more power on a stock motor though... oh yea, did i mention to get it with mandrel bends...
