exhaust install que.
for a 100% stock civic cx hatch the apexi ws2 catback didn't fit b/c it didn't reach. mechanic said i needed a catalyic converter. doesnt the cx civic come with one? can someone help me find a catalyic converter so i can install my exhaust. also i live in NJ so i have to pass emissions. so can anyone provide me with a link to where i can purchase one ( hopefully not to expensive) TIA

you car DOES have a catalytic converter on it. The CX utalizes a Catalytic converter that is part of the exhaust manifold attached to where the lower section would normally be. (it is the fat part with galvanized heat shields)
All you would need to do is install an extension between the manifold and the new exhaust and you will be able to pass emissions just fine.

so can i just use a test pipe since i do have a cat?
like one of those cheap ones from ebay

you will likely have to get an exhaust shop to make it because of the odd CX manifold. Unless you can find a CX specific extension pipe.

well i'm usre my mechanic shop will do everything for me..but i plan on getting a gsr swap in the future i just want something to pass inpection now ( running open headers due to borken stock pipe) tahts why i bought the ws2...so if i get a ebay test pipe will i still pass emissions being that i have a cat already i know i need a 2.5 inlet/outlet i really just need to mount my exhasut now so i can pass

did you get a hatch exhaust? it should bolt right up. if it doesn't fit you'll have to get a test pipe the length of an ex cat.. it's not illegal because you should still have the cat on the front of the block..
