exhaust hitting endlinks
 

This is a problem I have seen talked about a few times, but never a dedicated post or solution to the problem. I have a beaks kit on my 99 Si with the stock endlinks and an Apexi WS2 exhaust and the endlinks rattle against the exhaust piping. It is the most annoying sound ever.

Any ideas besides the ubiquitous "dampen it with heat wrap" suggestion?

reweld the hangers, perhaps some kind of sleeve over the beaks part?

As a matter of fact, it was doing it even with the stock swaybar on there, so the beaks piece has nothing to do with it. I am assuming this is because I have an LSR 4-1 jspec header (intended for a B18c) on my B16.

Another possibility, does anyone make an aftermarket endlink?

Oh, Kteller. Since you have exhaust knowledge, with as low as the primaries on the header hang, they don't cause clearance issues. It is my cat or the exhaust resonator that always scrape. Besides changing headers, any way to tuck those pieces up against the car - perhaps a flex pipe in place of the cat (which is punched out anyway)?

scrape on the ground or are they hitting say your heat shield..

some ppl have rubbage on their shiftlinkage area cause of header swaps~

i have the same damn problem on with my WS althought i had it bolt to a stock Y8... got so annoyin that i took the WS off.. im running a stock exhaust rite now.. anyone know why it rubs and how tow fix it.. its just rubs on the piping

No, they are definitely hitting the ground - anytime I drive over a curved entryway that slopes. Most of the heat shielding has been removed due to excessive rattle so it isn't that. The cat and resonator hang pretty low.

I have the same prob, put my car on a lift and found out that my dc 4-1 was bottomed out so bad one time that it bent it up and bent that hangar that comes off the back of the engine block, that the back end of the header hangs on. (must have been some late night after a kegger or somthing when it happened) , i dont remember how it happened, but it actually pushed my whole catback system back like 1.5" and now it hits my rr link and vibrates on the gas tank heat shield somtimes.
I just left it because i will be putting a DP for my yerbo somtime soon, and i will have it all corrected at that point in time.

Its possible that if you have a different deader on there that is toolong, it will push the entire system back a little bit.
On stock suspension height cars it would probably be ok, but since our cars are lowered it makes everything closer to the lca's

True. Plus the hangar support for the header was too short: had to be removed. Not sure what problems that might cause. I am very careful how I drive not to damage the header, but scraping the resonator is unavoidable, so far at least.

What piece from kteller.com will allow me to tuck my exhaust a little better. Maybe replace the cat with a flex pipe or a bend of some sort.

can measure the length of your cat and get a testpipe: that should be more tucked on your car

or just get a skid plate

go get a sheet of metal and have it put on there, so when you do rub or slide. it rubs that and wears on it. kinda like knee pads lol
