exhaust flange
I got a new muffler axle back, and the flange needs to be rotated about 30degrees clockwise. RIght now i have the muffler actually rotated, so its crooked. A small leak is around the flange because of the imperfect seal.
Would getting one of those flanges from autozone, and placing it behind the current flange, using extra long bolts, ensure a better seal and fitment? This way i can have the muffler perfectly fitted.
Im just worried about leaks, however since the clamp on flange is smooshing the welded flanges together, wouldnt this work better?

anybody? i just wanna know if im putting exsessive stress on the piping and exhaust system by forcefully rotating the muffler to fit the exsisting flange. Will a slide on flange behind the current flange work? or create an uneven seal?

it'll only cost you about 15 or 20 bucks.

i was actually quoted about 230 everywhere i went. Only one place said 80 bucks....oh well i did try my theory and didnt work..
however, i have my muffler rotated, and forced the flanges to line up. It doesnt look to bad, but im worried about the stress on the exhaust system. Is this a worry or is everything pretty strong? there still is some slack but not much, the exhaust is pretty tight.

that price seems extremely excessive.i'd just take a saw or dremel to the muffler and cut the flange off. then go to the muffler shop and just ask them to weld it back on in the right position. if it costs you more then 20 bucks its ridiculous.
