look for carbon build up around the clamps or flanges, this would indicate a leak. is there alot of rust on the exhaust?

the best thing to do is to place your hand over the exhaust and see if the exhaust system will build up enough pressure to where you can't keep your hand on it... if it like blows your hand away then you don't have a leak but if it doesn't then you have a leak!! but one more thing make sure the car has been running for a while before you do this!! O.K.

Why let it run a while?
