Okies well next question is....the guy he bought it from installed a ex gauge cluster (because the cx has no rpm gauge), and when he revs the car the car seems to rev up to 7500, and im not talking about redlining there, sometimes it might even go up but just ALOT slower, still though i don't think a sohc VTEC can redline so high now can it?

Huh?? I got confused about it goin slower or somthin?? Anyhow any stock tach is never as acurate as say an aftermarket but it does get the job done no less... but the stock SOHC fuel cut is 7200rpm's but I know for a fact I have seen my gauge read close to 7500... also its not a great idea to totally redline it up there since your done make power before that usually...

who cares if its got vtec yo0 its still slow. NAw j/k, most likly if u see the vtec solenoid it whould be vtec beacuse who the fu*k would weld a damn solenoid to there head. teh question about the gauge cluster going to 8k is possible because it is probably off. my h22 only goes to 7400 and on my cluster i have to bring it up to 7600. and trust me its a huge difference when u dont bring it all the way there.

i have a stock d16z6 with stock ecu, it has a rev-limiter at 9k. i made the mistake of trying to pass a tractor-trailer at about 50mph. i meant to go from 5th to 4th, instead hit 2nd. car took off, i was like holy ****, then my car cut out, i look down and my tach was at 9 and dropping, then i shifted back to 5th and the car was going again.

cliffs: d16z6 redline at 9k, bad experience finding this out.
