Default EX tranny into CX and TIRE WEAR

About 7000 miles ago I put tranny from civic ex into my 98 cx. I have faithfully rotated tires every 6-7000 miles and they had worn nicely until this swap. I drive 160 miles 5 days a week. 3 days of commuting after the swap I rotated the tires and noticed that the front tires were wearing very WAVY on the inside, both tires the same wear. Uh-oh I made appt at local very reputable alignment shop and they say all is well. So after my vaca week I again commute and now all 4 tires are worn very wavy on inside. Just noticed that right rear tire is also getting wavy on the outside. Any ideas on what cause could be? I thought maybe that 15 inch tires on ex as standard and the 14 in on my cx could have a bearing, but westcoaststyle (great DIY post on installing clutch in civic) thinks not. Something definitely happened in the swap because tires were fine until then, and changed immediately after. Tires have 70000 miles and I need new ones B4 winter but I want to get this problem solved first.

i swaped the ex S20 tranny into my car last winter and my tires didnt have any diffrent tire wear. it could posibaly be a wheel bearing, maybe the lower ball joints, the tranny shouldnt have any effect on the tire wear unless the CV joints on the axles are somehow messing with your suspention, wavey tire ware comes from... worn or loose parts, or from not being ballanced corectly.. i dont see why your tranny swap would affect tire wear, my guess is its just happend at about that time.

Yeah u shouldn't have any tire wear problems after the swap. Sounds to me it is out of alignment. I used to work in a tire shop, and the balance of the tire should have no bearing on makeing the tire wavy or wear different. It sound more like aliment to me. Is the car lowered? Most alignment shops tend to look the other way when a lowered car comes in and they like to make alot of excuses so they wont have to do it. Plus w/ 70,000 mile's on the tire it time too get new one. Some tires do that once it come close to the end of their running days.

With that many miles, I'd say its just your tires. They are shot to all holy hell.
