Default are ex and si tranny the same in 92-95

i was on jdm civic and there is a guy telling me that the ex tranny is geared taller than the dx. i was under the impression that the ex and si were the same.

the ex and si are the same. the dx has taller gearing that the ex/si

yep same tranny, although i have heard that the del sol sohc vtec tranny has quicker gears than sohc vtec thats in civic ex and si hatch

You heard right. The b16 tranny is shorter than the tranny in the EX and SI.

Well he's wrong. The DX/LX tranny is geared longer than the EX/Si tranny.

The EX and Si transmissions are geared the same except for 5th gear. The Civic EX has a longer 5th than the Civic Si and del Sol Si.

the del sol sohc vtec isnt a b16...

You heard wrong. The del Sol Si has the EX/Si tranny.

Nope, all trannies that came in '92-95 Civic Si, '92-95 Civic EX, and '93-95 del Sol Si had a 4.25:1 final drive ratio. All of these cars had the D16Z6 SOHC VTEC engine.
