question.....after i hooked up my 99 radio into my 96 civic [had to use 2 harnesses, couldnt believe best buy actually carried a male harness to plug into a factory radio] the deck doesnt illuminate as bright as it should. i notice the 99 harness has 2 orange wires for illumination. anyway, i cant adjust the brightness of the radio lights when i turn on my lights. anyone have a solution?

also, how the hell do u set the clock??

I have a SI radio in my 96 hatch. I have a similar problem. My deck lights up just fine, but I cant adjust the dimmer. The reason for this is because I made my harness adapter, I used a factory plug I got from Honda (not the Best Buy one) You have to add an additional wire for the dimmer. I was going to add it, but mine ended up looking OK, So i didnt worry about it. I have a photcopy out of one of the service manuals that has all the radio wire diagrams for any year civic. That came in handy. I hope some of this info helps. Good luck.

lol nice avatar. my deck lights up when i turn the lights on, its just stuck at the dimmest setting. if its in the manual, can u tell me which wire to hook up for illumination? i just hooked up the two wires [dimmer and illumination] from the Si radio to the one wire [dimmer] from my 96 harness.
