Default EX question

I have a '93 Civic EX and need to know where I can find detailed info about the car. I've tried searching the internet high and low but there is too much information to decypher. Any helpful links or pointers?

Thanks for the quick reply. I need to know info about the engine and transmission and parts swapability. I just bought the car from a guy that works for me for 700 dollars (he was in trouble and needed cash) and took it in for a major service and the tech offered me 1500 dollars for the engine and 5 speed. I know very little about that era of Honda. It's a black 2 door EX coupe with the honda spoiler on the back but no mods.

Thanks, is that motor worth playing with at all? I'll obviously drop something else in it since the car is in excellent shape.

The 92-95 Civic EX/Si all come with the D16Z SOHC VTEC engine putting out 125hp. The 92-95 Civic platform offers one of the largest if not largest aftermarket support. If you're interested in swapping engines, you can pretty much have your pick of the lot (B16, B18, B20, H22, LS/VTEC, CRVTEC). If you plan on swapping and selling your stock drivetrain, depending on the mileage, most SOHC VTEC swaps (engine, tranny, etc) sell for around $500-$800. Feel free to ask any more questions as the guys here are pretty knowledgeable about anything you might need to know. Good luck and by the way, great buy! You can't go wrong with a 5th gen Civic for $700.

I'm still curious why someone offered you $1,500 for a D16Z?

I do the networks for their company, we do a lot of trading back and forth. Maybe they figure they can save some money by smoozing me.

The SOHC VTEC engine was only in '94+ Civic EX/Si's, so his engine isn't VTEC. Why someone would pay $1500 for it is beyond me. He must really wanna kiss up to you.

you've got to be joking!! haha, the d16z6 was available from 1992-1995 in the civic ex coupe, sedan and si hatchback. what you are thinking of is the valve cover did not have "vtec" stamped on it until 1994....
