EX motor swap help
I have a 96 dx h/b and I am trying to put in a 00 ex motor but I can't get my speedometer gauge to work and i also don't have v-tech. I am using the 00 ex engine wire harness + ecu. I have even tried a 92-95 ecu with the skunk 2 adaptor but my car still has no v-tec and idols rough and the speedometer gauge still does not work. any ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: EX motor swap help (Spade)
if the speedo isnt working it might be the vss sensor
if the vss sensor dosent work the ecu goes into safe? mode and vtec wont engage

Re: EX motor swap help (redline201)
You HAVE to use you 96 EX harness and ecu.
Just put the 96 harness on the 00 motor and drop it in the car. Plug up your 96 ecu and it will crank right up.
The 99-00 engine harness is totally different than the 96-98 harness.
Yes the ecu plugs do look the same but the wiring is completely different and the interior harness plug (green one) is different. That's why your speedo isn't working.
