Thats a good question. The fitment from Amazon indicates it fits. The description is very specific about what it fits only and does not include the 98 LX. I would steer clear if there's any doubt as you will pay return shipping. Talked with chat specialist and they said that this would definitely fit and not too much more than Amazon plus cool blue on the tip! Would you be able to check under the hood of your car in the engine fuse box and read the part number off of the heater motor relay? Located left of the cooling fan relay, mg clutch relay, condensor fan relay in that order. Really need that part number as my relay is missing!

It will fit if you run an EX manifold (or aftermarket header) and an EX catalytic converter. It also requires extending the wiring for the O2 sensors if you go this route (premade extension harnesses are available)

So your telling me i cannot just buy this and bolt it on as is? I am not replacing the CC. I have stock LX 1998. The people at CarID said it would be guaranteed to fit. Also, if it wont fit what would I need to do to make it fit? Also if I was to replace the CC with this one http://www.specdtuning.com/mhf-cv92.html would it then fit because here it says that http://www.specdtuning.com/mfcat2-cv92.html the amazon one (same part #) would fit but only with cc?

Exactly.

They lied to you or they're misinformed.

Or if you want to cut up a brand new exhaust you can cut the flange off the end, weld a length of pipe on along with a new flange to meet the downpipe. Or you could buy an aftermarket test pipe to give you the extra length. I don't like either of these two options, I don't like number 1 because I hate cutting up a new exhaust. I don't like number 2 because it introduces extra places for exhaust leaks and it just looks pieced together.

What you'll find is this exhaust ends up being roughly a foot too short where it bolts up to the downpipe due to the LX (and any model with the D16Y7 engine) having the catalytic converter integrated into the OEM manifold. The EX has it after the downpipe.

Sort of, it will fit however you'll end up with two catalytic converters one behind the other which is a bit restrictive and redundant. You can however use this cat along with an EX manifold or aftermarket header though as I mentioned in my first post.

If you're buying this exhaust with perceived notions of increased horsepower don't bother, especially with the extremely restrictive manifold you have.
