EX CX o2 sensor differences?
Are the o2 sensors for the civic CX and EX different. I am using a new CX sensor with my EX head and I think that might be why its throwing a code. Are they different?

Ex sensors are 4 wire. Some 92-95 cx sensors were one wire.
96+ should all be four wire, with one sensor in the header, and one In or behind the cat.

probably why you are throwing a code u should try a 4 wire o2 sensor and see if the code still pops up...
dont forget to reset ur ECU!!

i have a four wire o2. I'm using my cx o2 sensor, and i have a 98 hatch so its 4 wire. I have 2 cx o2 sensors both 4 wire, both work. I tried both in my car and after driving a bit i got a code 1. If I turn the car off and on the code goes away and it runs fine. But it pops on again eventually, and when it comes on the performance goes to ****. I have a p28 with a OBD2-1 conversion.

AHHH...ok u have a 98 CX...well your car is probably throwing that code for a reason....your o2 is probably bad..have you tried replacing it??

Well one of the o2 (the one in now) was brand new never used, of course there was a fire near the battery that might have shorted the o2, or it might have been burnt out from being in the upper manifold. I will swap in a different o2 and see how it goes. If the o2 were bad wouldnt the ECU throw a code right away?

Re: (turbotime)
I've found posts concerning converting a 1-wire o2 to a 4-wire o2 to get rid of the code 41 CEL [o2 sensor heater], but does anyone know how to convert a 5-wire harness to a 4-wire? Getting the plug will be no problem for me, I just need to know which four of the five wires to use, if any, and how they hook up. I'm running a B18A1 [which calls for a 4-wire] with a VX harness [which has a 5 wire].
