Espelir Catback review with pics and vids

I bought a used espelir catback from Jeff S about a month ago and finally had time to get it hooked up. Im running it on my 92 hatch with a jdm gsr swap, built head and an-r header.

I bought a cheapo slip joint pipe to slip on the header and weld a flange on to bolt the exhaust up. The exhaust is extremely well made...full stainless, comes with a silencer. It exits at a tiny angle...I like it a lot.

Its a pretty large canister and I was expecting a raspy buzzy tone with no cat and the small resonator that comes on the b pipe. I was quite pleased with the sound though. It is really deep and not raspy at all, especially for not having a cat.

It screams in the higher rpm but still doesnt have that hollow tone most N1s have. Here are some pics and 2 vids(right click save as). The vid of the exhaust does it no justice, it sounds sick in real life. The other vid is just for fun https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

thanks. to tell u the truth, its loud...i had my friend rev it while i shot the video of the muffler. but its not annoying, can be quiet and has a silencer(but i only put it in to hear what it sounds like). Its on par with an apex n1, maybe a little more quiet

looks good, does the piping go under the control arm like the n1 or over?

Casey 04-03-2004 07:55 AM

Re: (t0ekn3e)

looks and sounds nice https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif what exhaust did you have before, could you feel any performance advantage out of it?

i had a crush bent 2.5" exaust a LONG time ago...i ran open header from about october to dec. My car just started to run again about 3 weeks ago, so this is nice having a "quiet" exaust https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
