Re: Service connector 01 civic (Mike813)
that's BS about them only doing GMs and chryslers, they're just being dicks. Autozone has some of the LAZIEST employees I've ever met in my life. OBD2 is OBD2, the connector and the codes are universal if the car is 96+. THE EPA MANDATED IT, for God's sake. It doesn't matter if it's Chrysler, Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, whatever....
as long as it's got the 16 pin OBD2 connector, the little orange scanner they have will read it. A hate it when they (AUTOZONE) advertise a service and are too lazy to do it and make up excuses...
WHen I heard the commercial on the radio, I drove 30 minutes to an autozone to have them check a code for me. When I got there, the A**hole manager said someone had stolen their scan tool, so they couldn't do it. I said, "why can't you use one off the shelf?" He told me he wouldn't jeopardize his "career" like that (WHAT CAREER, he's night manager at AUTOZONE).
It really pissed me off when I left the store and could see their scan tool through the glass, behind the counter!
Just like when they used to turn drums and rotors years ago, but they always said the machine was "broken" or they didn't have anyone working who was qualified to use it.
