Default Errr...another dumb question....

Heh, alright, turns out...I didn't get a hatchback, I got a DX 4 door 1.5 sedan (Hey, it was a free car...can't complain) and I'm putting a 1.6 SOHC VTec motor in it (Ex motor... but I'm sure you all new that...) Basically what I'm asking is , I could drop an Si head on it,right? I was just wondering, wanting to pump up the horses a lil' bit before I tune the suspension ( Building this thing up for road racing, not drag...) welp, thanks and any suggestions I'll take, cuz like I said in my last post, I'm a RWD Nissan man, so I'm outta my game...heh

ex motor as in d16y8 or d16z6? si head on it as in b16a2? or d16z6?

the ideal thing to do is pop a d16y8 IM on a d16z6 head and before that, i would get a intake, header, and exhuast. then go from there.

The d16Z6 from a 93 SI is a D series engine. That will fit on. Any B-Series engine like a 99-00 Si will NOT fit. PS, Nissan sucks, but welcome to Honda.
Your best power bet is a Si head on that EX engine. A new cam, and get a turbo kit, thats your best power for the money, and itll make more HP that puttin in most stock B series motors.

Ok so im guessing you got a 92-95 civic dx since you said it had a 1.5, so therefore you would want to swap in a d16z6, and for the si head part are you meaning a 92-95 si head? If so the ex motor is the same motor that came in the si hatch so you would already have this when u did the swap. If your talking the 99-00 si NO you cant its a DOHC and ur motor is sohc so thats not gonna work.

The SI head is the same head that comes on an EX engine.

OR. you could do a mini-me. a mini-me consists of a sohc vtec head mated w/ a non-vtec block (yours in this case). you could find a used d16z6 head for about 150 around in the classifieds, also get a y8 IM while you're at it. you also have those long gears, so i would suggest getting a d16z6 tranny

yup, then you'll have enough to sleeve your block along w/ turbo app pistons and a nice hairdryer, you'll be mashing out on b-series powered honda's all year round
