Ericks Racing OBD2 ECU programs
anyone use them or heard of them? I was under the impression that no one could chip OBD 2 ECUs. I just thought it was interesting

OBD2 can be chipped, but its not near as easy as OBD1. It's not as supported either.
Beware, the programs are in those chips are also just as good as the ones you'd buy for an OBD1 ECU.
A guess to match your setup at best.
tuning is the only way to go.

of the ones that I've seen you can still scan for codes and the CEL will be off, but you will fail state inspections.
There may have been some advancements in that area though, it's been a while since I've checked in on OBD2 progress.

In terms of OBD2 ECUs...
reflash = connect to the internal MCU though a interface device and reprogram it though serial communication. This has not been worked out yet, all though there is some activity with the K-series ECUs.
chipped = physically pulling out the internal chip and installing one that has a different set of maps/parameters in it.
a very different process.
I'm not sure what makes a chipped OBD2 ECU fail emissions inspection, I just remember that they would not pass inspection here in Illinois and we have a simple plug-in & read inspection as well.
sorry, I'm an OBD1 guy so I don’t spend a lot of time looking into OBD2.
PGMFI.org has some info if you want to search around for it.
