Since they have unique ends, I would say even modifying them wouldn't work. You wouldn't be able to cut off either end without botching the whole side skirt. Your best bet is to get replica DC2R side skirts (they don't look exactly like that, but they still look good) and go from there.
The EG and DC chassi are very similar, that would be a lot easier to do.
