I have a 94 civic dx with the stock motor(uggghhhh) i was driving today and notice that the engine stopped while i was moving didnt count it strange at all...so i tried to crank it up didnt crank...ok i open the hood and find that there is no spark at the dizzy so i replaced the rotary button still no spark...mind you the car had been having some idling issues it would rev up and down not high tho just noticable.. ok if there is anything i may have left out plz let me know


btw i had it compression checked before it went out..

the numbers were 120 113 115 119 left to right

If the fuel pump primes, check the coil and igniter unit in the distributor and whether the timing belt snapped.

thx now the coil how would i deal with that? nd checking it...also the rotary button spins so that should eliminate the timing belt right

Hey, I just bought an 1990 Honda crx si, and their has been so many problems. A wiring nightmare i should say. The car wont start now, and it shows its running rich. How can get the car to the ideal state, rather than the rich or lean?

your problem is simple. its the ignition coil. its inside the distributor. it will be about $70 to replace. to test if this is the problem. try using a buddys working distributor, then if the car runs go buy your self a good ignition coil. goodluck

thanks you guys turns out it was the coil...ok problem solved but a new one arose....when i turn on the god awful cold ac (thank ya Jesus) the car idles super low and acts sluggish was doing it before i change the coil

check your alternator could be lack of power
