Default B20 vtec engine wont run right

i have a B20vtec engine and it turns on but when i give it gas it it will only go to 3000rpm. and it wont go higher it just bogs. could it be my ecu not feeding the fuel right to the engine?

Your ECU is in safe mode. Check your distributor and make sure everything is straight with it. Are you throwing any CELs?

Thats weird, I 've never seen the water temp sensor jack up a car that much. Unplug that particular sensor, plug it back in, reset the ECU and see what happens.

The coolant temperature sensor being fucked up can ruin all kinds of things, including the fuel tables and timing.

make sure that the VTEC and CTS plugs arent interchanged. Black plug = CTS

Green plug = VTEC.

no. replacing the sensor means unscrewing the sensor from the head and putting in a new one. I think it's a 19mm socket?? 21?? ah whatever.
