Default engine wash headache...

i used engine degreaser and used a hose to degrease my engine yesterday. after doing that, everything was fine. then at night, when i turn on my headlights, the left blinker wont work.. heres the details.

the right side is alright

with headlight on: left headlight is very dim, left clear corner bulb wont signal, but the left tailight blinker works. as a conclusion, wehn i signal left, the blinker blinks very fast.

with high beams on: right headlight goes to high beam, and left headlight is still dim, no change at all.

with headlight not on: everything is normal

with indicator lights on: everything works fine.

so did i fucked up a wire or something during the wash? or can i run a wire from the headlight fuse to the left headlight? thanks

sounds like u got water in a connector and it is causing it to ground somewhere else, also dirt does the same thing;. try unpluging the connectors and blowing them out or spray a brake clean in them. thats what i did to fix my dads truck taillights

I wouldent use brake cleaner, get contact cleaner its made jus for cleaning out connecters. But it sounds like you have water or something in a connection near the lights causing your headache.

leave hood open under the sun, unplug some connectors that's causing problem. let mother nature take care of the rest.

Sounds to me like the ground wire is loose...

Check all grounds first and then go to your fuses...

Also spray your contacts with WD-40 or something similar...

And like someone said, open your hood on sunny day and let it stay thatway for 1-2 hours and let the nature do the job...

do not use brake cleaner, it will cause more problems then solve, just unplug the connectors and let them dry as long as you can, yes driving a car has higher temps than the sunlight but do you want an electrical current going through something that isn't working right? just leave the car off for a while and let it dry itself off
