Default engine vs engine the better buy?

ls integra non vtec engine all stock except header, motor mounts, ecu, tranny, wire harness axles etc
$1200

or b16a2 engine axles motor mounts ecu gsr tranny gsr internals crx pistons
$1800

if i get the b16 i end up with a whole car that was trashed when rear ended but its the same car i have so ill have everything i need

the ls also comes with everything i need because its also in a eg but ill have to pull everything involved with the swap and leave the car

i know preference depends on appliation of the engine. and for the most part ide rather have the b16 sence there is more into it but im not sure if im going to boost in the future or not and always assumed the b18 was better when it came to turbo because you see more ls turboed around here than anything else. no turbo b16s ive seen in the area.

but like i said turbo is a thought but not a deffinate....that stuffs right costly to get done RIGHT

anyways just looking for opinions

in my own opinion, i would say B16 but im not a big fan of USDM motors. but it seems to be build and going with the LS i assume u wanna go vtec sooner or later, and there is another 500-600 on a head unless u find a good deal.

keep the thread updated

b16 all the way... the b18 has alittle more tq but you will have way more fun and way more hp with the b16a2 being built. Both engines are USDM so Infrared ek dont need to add that.

I am thinking of swapping mine also. I like the b16a, if your not always racing it will be good on gas while ur just cruisin. Plus i mean what 160-170 horses, i got a d15 0.1 liter less with only 102 prolly even less. So yeah go with the b16a and what about h22 do u like dem?

IMO go with the b18 and save a little money upfront, then turn around and get a b16 head & ecu and wire up vtec...this is just my opinion but also look at milage of the motor and wear and tear (if the motor was swapped in these cars, then chances are they've been pushed a little bit) just check each of them out before you slap down cash. good luck

everyone has an LS turbo, i would say take the b16 and do something not alot of people do, like vortech supercharge it

Imagine that, a supercharger with a front mount, people would think youre turbo until they heard it. Instead of having that weak b16 launch due to not having torque, a supercharger would make up for low end without lag... just a thought

plus it would probably be more fun in NA form than the LS, so waiting until your ready for boost wouldnt be such a bore.

i would go with the b16 over the ls.

its the torqueless wonder, then once you get to vtec you will have fun.

plus you get a whole car that you can strip and sell parts or use for your self

how can you have crx pistons??? CRX's came with d15's and d16 which are 75mm and B-series pistons are 81mm... unless they're jdm b16 pistons out of a 1st gen b16. I say go LS, more torque.....which is something the b16 lacks very much annd is hard to get without boost

out of the 2 i would have to say b16 in this case only for the price and since you are getting a complete wrecked car, so you can use other things, and sell what you dont use, to offset the cost.
