Engine Trouble
I have a d15b7, and before you say its not a good engine i already know. The problem is when you take the engine up to around 3000-4500 rpm your hear a rattle which isnt really distinctive unless your under the hood. I asked a few people and three out of four are calling it a rod knock. I am very good about changing my oil and also what kind of oil i use. Does anyone have any advice.

not saying that you should ignore it, but if it's an older car it's going to make noise. Sure it will freak you out, but as long as it's not hurting performance it'll just annoy you. Make sure that it's not an engine problem first, but if it isn't, chances are it's just something (like your exhaust) rattling up against the body.

yeah my guess would be something rattling on your exhaust. a rusted broken cat housing is a very common thing with hondas, and will cause a strange rattling around 3000-4000 rpms: that's exactly what happened to me. take a close look at your entire exhaust system.
and the b7 is a perfectly good engine.

The 88-91 prelude has a header rattle from 2000-3000 rpms. I believe ludespeed.com had a resolve to this issue, but this might not be your case.

I'll agree with both of these statements
