Sure is.
But anyway I keep hearing about a y8, what motor is it? What does it come in, does anyone have any specs on it? Im not too familiar w/ it. Thanks Guys. Also if your doing a single cam why not do a z6 or a mini-me?

Re: (jdmvic)
A D16Y8 is an OBDII so you will need to convert your wiring to OBDII.
why not go and find a D16Z6 it will be an easier swap since wiring will be the same.
A D16Y8 is an civic EX motor from '96 to '00

should drop right in just use your same harness, have to change out a few plugs here and there, also transfer your Alternator and Distributor (you can just change out the dizzy plugs) from your VX motor, to the new motor and you should be good to go. also you will need to get the OBD2 Injector Clips. and use the p28.

you will need to change o2 sensors, use your alternator, mounts, wiring, rewire the harness from 5 wire to 4 wire o2 sensor, p28 ecu, you will need to add in an iat on the intake manifold

the reason why i wanna go with the d16y8 is because my friend has one in his garage and hes willing to give it to me really cheap. so for now it would be some extra hp for low cost. but now im not sure, some of you make it sound like its hard work but then some of you say its easy.

I know this is off topic, but have you considered a mini-me change over? Unless the current block you have has tons of miles, then a whole swap is best...

i would just go with the y8. use the dist, altenator, injectors, and harness off ur VX motor. then re-wire the o2 sensor and pick up a p28 and ex/si tranny
