Engine Swap - Question
Hey guys,
I just purchased a 92 Honda Civic Hatchback Si, and I can't wait to start modding it. I will be making a thread for my car, for start to finish, just so I can look back on the days when it was stock.
Anyways, I was wondering what would be the best engine to put in the car? Right now it's a D16Z6 with 300,000 km's on it, so I think it's almost in need of an engine swap. I'm sure people will have different opinions on which motor would be the best to put in it, so fire away!
Thanks in advance,
Trapphik.

Re: Engine Swap - Question
As far as a B series motor, depending on your budget i would go with a B16A.
They are smaller motors but they can Rev to the skkyy. They are also somewhat reliable depending on how you drive. I would say a B16 Tranny as well. They are short gears and you will get up to speed way quicker. Maximum hp and torque is usually around 160 ps @ 7600 rpm.Plus if you plan on boosting it, the thing will be quick.

Re: Engine Swap - Question
If you want to experience vtec then best motor for a beginner is a b16a. Its high reving, short gears, and pretty fast.
If you want power but non vtec and for daily driving then get a b18b motor.
If you want to save money and feel power more than a stock b16a, then turbo your d16z6.

Re: Engine Swap - Question
Jdm itr complete swap with basic bolt ons and you're be driving a 13 second car. My 93 civic hb dx with 96 jdm itr swap with steet tires(16psi) stock internals, passenger seat gutted with bolt on did 13.6 at 104 mph to 13.8 constantly. JDM ITR swap and you'll love it better than gsr, b16 , LS, swap.
