engine swap now clutch wont work?
ok so i blew my motor and swapped another d15 into it. took the clutch off the bad engine and used the pressure plate off the new (used) one (mine got bent coming out). the trans will goto into all gears with engine off but wont go in running. i already bleed the line till no bubbles came out and fluid is topped off. when i was doing the swap the slave cylinder was leaking a little fluid out of it, could my slave cylinder be the problem? with my friend pushing clutch the piston moves but looks like it may not come out all the way.
what else could be the prob?
oh both engines were d15b7's

It could be the slave cyl. I did a clutch one time and the pedal fell to the floor causing the plunger to overextend out of the slave cyl. and leaked a little. It bled fine but had zero pedal. I replaced it and problem solved. Also, did the pressure plate look to be the same??

the press plate was different but looked stock. my old one had more small teeth and the new one had less but bigger. the pedal isnt hard or anything its just like it was before the swap. think i should just grab a new slave cylinder?

Its hard to say. If you pump the crap out of the clutch and then hold it down with the engine on can you get it into gear? Im not sure if this works the same way a brake master would but its worth a try.... and its free to do....

quick update..
put a new slave cylinder in today and still nothing. when i took the old one off the clutch fork feels loose, like i can push it back and forth with no resistance..thats not normal is it?

Re: engine swap now clutch wont work?
so this was floating around in the resivoir not quite sure what it is or what it does. when i was bleeding after the new slave cylinder when i cracked the bleeder it would shoot out real hard and the piston would pull back and pedal would stick to the floor then no more fluid would come out, pull the pedal up and it would drain the resivoir

Re: engine swap now clutch wont work?
I agree completely....sounds more like the throw out bearing is bad or fell off the clutch fork or the clutch fork is not set properly on the ball in the bell housing. Also, i have seen clutch discs put in backwards that make no noise at all but cause the same simptom. If I were you I would go ahead and pull the transmission....and check and double check everything. There is no need to disconnect the lines from the slave cylinder if it has already been bled...just unbolt it and set it to the side that way you wont have to bleed it again....

Re: engine swap now clutch wont work?
just wanted to let everyone know incase they have similar problems, different clutch/press plate combo not a good idea. took the trans off and clutch fork was on including throw out bearing. put a new clutch kit in and no problems. thanks all for your input.
