Engine Swap - Need Help Pulling Axles
I am trying to drop my engine and tranny out the bottom of the 92 civic i just bought. I have everything out but am stuck at the axles. What suspension items do I need to remove to get these suckers out? I am hoping to pull the axles out of the transmission only because I am having a difficult time loosening that bolt on the wheels.
Any tips would be awsome. I want to drive the car!!!
Thanks
Eric

you'd have to be able to take off the castle nut on the ball joint and pop the ball joint so you can pull the wheel hub and axle away from the trans
but the axle will only not be in the way as long as your pulling the engine fromt he top
the driver will still be int he way if your dropping it from the bottom

Re: Engine Swap - Need Help Pulling Axles
all i ever remove is the fork from shock to lower control arm, pop the lower ball joint off the arm and just swing it out n to the back of the car a bit while pulling axle(s) out from trans, basically leaving them hang and it works for me when im at the track or something. but have now been using my 1/2" cordless Snap-On impact gun so i just remove the whole thing off

to get the axles out, you need to take the castle nut/cotter pin out of the lower ball joint, break it free, then remove the long bolt from the fork. after you do that, you need to get the axle nut loose, and pull the axles out of the tranny.
