Default Engine swap... Assembling correct parts.

i was looking at buying a b16a from a 93 teg XSi from a local seller. But then i would need to find a transmission to go with it for a swap into a 94 civic dx hatch. What should i be looking for? lsd? hydro? cable? Im not looking for best torque or horsepower, itll merely just be to get the b16 in for show purposes, and have her running reliably as a dd. Cheaper would be better.

will a 93 teg half shaft and axles work?

what shifter linkage am i lookin for? all i found was the hasport b series linkage for 92-95 civics which was rather pricey.

as far as the tranny goes you can use any b series tranny. but i would go with a hydro ls or gsr. as for your shift linkage goes you need a eg b series.

Hydro LS would completely defeat the high end power of the B16. It would be like driving a slug. You can use any B series tranny but since your EG has a hydraulic actuated clutch, you should buy a hydraulic tranny, possibly a GSR/ITR. And you'll need a shift linkage from a 94-01 Integra, not a "eg b series" linkage (whatever that means).

The 93 teg axles/half-shaft will work, but only if your using a cable transmission. If your using a hydro transmission, you'll need axles/half-shaft from a 94-01 teg. ("hydro axles" with hydro tranny, and "cable axles" with cable tranny.)

so pretty much i need a 92-93 cable tranny with half shaft and axles and an eg b series linkage, or

94-01 hydro (gsr) tranny with 94-01 half shaft and axles and 94-01 linkage?

hah its my first swap. i have a 95 ex coupe, but ive never done anything major just as an engine swap to her.

you need a 94-01 integra shift linkage either way but you got the other stuff right my bad for confusing you

so the clutch being hydraulic or not depends on the transmission?

the tranny you have in your car right now is a hydro tranny. you will need everything from a hydro swap to make it work.

halfshaft from hydro swap
b-series motor mounts
dc teg shift linkage

and to answer your question, the tranny in your coupe is hydro, and yes, the cable tranny won't work in your car, unless you buy the conversion kit for it. but you're best off getting yourself a complete obd1 swap. easier for you

If you're asking simple questions like this how are you gong to do the wiring? Have you done any research on the swap at all? Dont forget to figure out what your going to do for your dizzy (distributor,) ecu. Good luck.

If the car comes with a cable tranny just sell it ot trade it for a hydro tranny. But as already mentioned you could get a conversion kit. That would be the cheapest wat to go.

but if you use the cable tranny, you will need the axles from the cable trans too.

my buddy has a honda shop and will be helping me do the swap. but i want to know wtf im doing so im not just sittin there watchin him, and so that i can do it myself next time.

any writeups on what to do with the dizzy?

if the hatch is a shell i would get from a junkyard, how would i be able to tell if the transmission it came with was cable or hydro?
